I am a great fan of Vim - a text editor created by Bram Moolenaar. I use Vim not just for coding but also for writing letters or a document.

A percentage of the money donated for Vim editor is made use by Bram Moolenaar for the welfare of under privileged children in Uganda through the ICCF.Thus by using and encouraging its use and obviously donating some money to the project, one is actually helping the children in Uganda.

Bram Moolenaar recently has been hired by Google and will start working for the search giant in Zurich. However, Bram has committed himself to its further support and development albeit at a reduced pace - says this article. This is good news for the children in Uganda as now, all the money donated to the Vim project will be passed on to them.
