Now be prepared to buy Ubuntu powered smartphones. Hardly a year back, Canonical had announced "Ubuntu for Android" project which enables high-end Android handsets to run a full fledged Ubuntu Desktop when the phone is connected to a monitor, mouse and keyboard.
Now Canonical is planning to release an Ubuntu mobile OS that runs natively on your smartphone. The Ubuntu OS powered smartphone is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
The following trailer gives an idea about the aesthetic appeal of the Ubuntu mobile OS.
Both native and web apps will be supported. Which means, you will be able to run your favorite open source software on your smartphone.
